infantry or aviation?
well im stuck on deciding between army 11b (infantry) or army aviation(pilot). The reason why i was thinking about infantry is because i like the fact that you watch peoples backs and make good friendships with people and they will be like your brothers after awhile..(what i heard) because u hang out with them alot.. and the reason for aviation is because it seems interesting that you get to fly and i like blackhawks... so what what your recommend or think what will be better for me...?

- go aviation you will like it alot. its alot of fun and you meet many different people. so good luck with your choice and welcome to the family
- Speaking from the private sector, with Aviation you still get the camaraderie, and the flying as well. You will likely always wonder if you don't give it a try. Besides, for the most part, Pilots are some of the coolest people I know, and they share your passion for flight. I say go for it! Enjoy, and thanks from this civilian.
- You need to decide whether you want to be in a technical field (aviation) or a personnel based environment (infantry). The Army is all about people, but aviation will require you to think much more technically. In addition, aviation is a longer commitment, with flight school and experience and all. You can take a tour with the infantry for a shorter period of time. You will also leave the army with new skills that can be applied to other places with aviation. Infantry develops skills that stay in the army, for the most part (people skills, leadership and management obviously apply everywhere).
- Aviation believe me man believe me
- If you want to be dirty, grubby and uncomfortable all the time, not to mention the possibility of being shot and killed, join the infantry and see the boondocks. If you want to be securely lodged in a base with 3 good squares and a clean shower daily with a good officers club just down the street go aviation. They hardly ever get killed and when they do they die happy.
- my fiance' is infantry in the marines, he hates his life. and he's in Afghanistan now. i also heard that they fcuk you up in soi. he even said if he could go back he would be an airwinger (aviation) they have it good, so I've heard. grunts are always angry.
