Aviation Maintenance degree!?
I want to be a Aviation maintainer, but i don't know which type of school is right for me. Which you think is better between institute and college? 1) Institute provides Associate degree, after you graduate, they will find you a job. The tuition for 18-month associate program $33,120; 2) College provides Associate degree and Bachelor degree. Annual tuition is $13,680. Does a Aviation maintainer necessary to hold a Bachelor degree? Or just hold a Associate degree is good enough. Which kind of school will you pick? Please give me your opinion, thanks!!!

- A Bachelor's is much better than just an Associate's degree, so I would go for the second one.
- I spent over 20 years in the industry, both military and civilian... Simultaneously. If you're only looking to be a maintainer then you don't need either degree. A school that offers a certificate or diploma will open the same doors for you in an entry level position... Maybe more. Have you ever hear the term "over qualified"? That being said, a degree will help you on paper if you want to work your way into a supervisory or management position. Obviously in that case a Bachelors is better than an Associates, although I've never heard of or seen a Bachelors in Aviation Maintenance. Must be something new. Something else you need to understand. No school can guarantee you a job or job placement, all they can do is offer you the service. And just because they find you a job doesn't mean that you'll want to move to Siberia to make $8.50 an hour if you get my drift. Going to school and getting an education is important, but so is hands on practical experience. And a nice new A&P ticket doesn't hurt either. Good luck in your endevour.
