Aviation Program acceptance?

If a college offers an aviation program for professional pilot, and they have a flight school built into the curriculum so you can get your ratings and hours and all of that, is it harder to get accepted into the flight portion of the school as opposed to any other major? In other words, is it harder to get into aviation majors at a school than it is for business?? I can not decide whether to apply to Dowling Aviation on Long Island or Farmingdale Aviation also on Long Island. Farmingdale is cheaper. Well thank you for your answers

  1. Why not apply to both schools ? How hard it is to be accepted depends on the number & quality of students competing for open slots. Be sure to inquire about fanicial aid/ grants etc.
  2. It is best to learn as much as you can about both schools. They probably have a tour for prospective students. Apply to both and inquire about tuition assistance. Good luck!
