Have high energy prices made the Aviation industry vulnerable?

In other words, would it be a bad idea now to even consider getting a job or career that is aviation related?

1. No not vulnerable. Just look at Boeing's new jet. Can you think of any replacement for airplanes? Me neither jump into that career.
2. it is a very cyclical industry but still viable.
