Aviation field MOS in the Marine Corps would I....?
If I happen to pick an aviation field mos in the Marine Corps, such as a mechanic, does this mean I would still be sent to Iraq even if my mos is not Infantry? I dont mind if I do, but I just want to know. Thanks. Ok, cool. Does this mean I would have a weapon with me too?

- Unless you know of a way to repair or work on the aircraft from here in the USA while your aircraft is in the middle east then I would say YES..If your squadron gets deployed then you will go along..Jets and helos provide support for the infantry..so when the infantry goes they usually take a squadron with them. Yes you will have a rifle issued to you...Once your ass hits the ground its game time..While being transported to wherever your going you might need to use your weapon..Your airbase could get invaded and you guys will have to protect it until help comes..Very unlikely, YES, but it could and has happened..
