THE AVIATION INDUSTRY (non shift work)? I have been in the aviation industry for close to 10 years. Out of those 10, only the internships that I did and working in Aviation Noise where the only positions that I did not work shift work. The industry is a fun one, but I have come to realize that I like banker hours. I am tired of having to work mornings then afternoons and weekends. Unfortunately it is an industry in which you live to work. The quality of life is horrible. Can anyone out there relate? Its a bummer cause my 2 degrees are in aviation and as I approach my mid 30's I am tired of doing this. The job pays the bills, but its at the expense of things that I enjoy doing. I wish I would have know this when I went into it. I do realize that things change, but little did I know I was going to end up resenting it. Not having a schedule that I enjoy makes it hard to be motivated and my performance is just mediocre... its hard to get out of a rut when is the same old every day. I am a masters student in search of a specific (very specific) idea to write about for the thesis/project. All my idea are too broad, as specified by my committee. My area of study: aviation, human factors, and safety. Current interest involves the study of pilots attitudes in relation to a theory called power distance (the amount of power a senior level pilot may have above junior level pilots). My interest is still to broad, and I am looking for some specific issues present in aviation safety. I need something simple/small and tangible to work with as I will take idea, research it, and write about it in extreme detail. Wives of Aviation Mechanics in theUSMC? My husband is a Fixed-Wing Airframe Aviation Mechanic (MOS 6251) in The USMC. As of right now he is MOS 6251 because he is a trainee in Pensacola, FL for his "a" schooling. From the understanding he qulifies for a certain plane here the goes to a "c" school to work on that specific plane. I was wondering if anybody knew abything about "c" school. I was told I could go with him to his "c" school but I actually want to hear that from someone who has been through it. I've heard from recruiters "yeah, u can go with him. He will be in Pensacola for a year" That was a straight up lie. His schooling is only 2 months but has been there 3 months and hasn't classed up. Any wives with Aviation Mechanic husbands? Can u go to "c" school with them?

Chemistry in Aviation? I'm about to start a project and I need to know what kind of chemistry is in your future career. I chose aviation...but I've done my research and I can't seem to find any chemisty. But the thing is I know that there is chemistry in aviation, especially environmental wise. Aviation Management? I am in my last year at high school here in Toronto and I am about to apply for post secondary education. I am really considering a program we have here called aviation mangegement where you learn all there is to know about the aviation industry and after you complete you have the oppurtunity to complete a degree for it. I have always been intrested in aviation and this program might be the right choice for me since I am realizing right now that that science and math are not my strong subjects , so that eliminates the oppurtunity for me to try pilot, or enginerring. So do you think I should go for this program? careers like airport mangement, airline management, flight dispatchers etc can come out of it. Are these careers considered "high careers"? and do you think I would be able to excel in it? and in terms of salary, how would that look like? Thank you.

FAA Funding and General Aviation Taxing? New legislation may be coming into effect soon that will make the cost of general aviation so high that almost no one will be able to earn a pilots license or do anything related to general aviation. As I skydiver this is very concerning to me. My sport is having a hard time getting new members because of costs. This bill would not only make skydiving much more expensive but it would make all other general aviation activities very expensive as well. The gist of the new legislation would be to decrease the amount of money the government spends on aviation and put the cost for aviation on the public. This is for all aviation! Not just general, your plane ticket to see grandma at the holidays will be going up too. What do you think about this issue? I'm biased. Aviation field MOS in the Marine Corps would I....? If I happen to pick an aviation field mos in the Marine Corps, such as a mechanic, does this mean I would still be sent to Iraq even if my mos is not Infantry? aviation college not worth it? i heard that a degree in something else from aviation would be good hmm actually theres a college here and its pritty famouse (i think) its called wyo tech in MA and that is for aircraft matienence would that be good to do and then come out of that and go to a reginal airlines and then majors so on and so on?

I posses rich experience in circuit level maintenance of avionic systems viz Ferranti Radar, Smiths Radar altimeter, Racal Decca Doppler radar, Bendix Weather radar,Ferranti navigational computer systems,Smiths DF system, collins communication systems etc and aircraft maintenance including airstores logistics management. My previous assignments were Sr manager (avionics) in an aircraft yard(2004-06), Senior Technical officer of an air squadron(2002-04), Officer in charge of avionics workshops(1992-2002), QA duties(1990-92) , Instructor in NIAT etc. Iam presently appointed as STO of an air squadron. Iam looking for a challenging career in civil aviation as DGM/ Sr Manager Aircraft maintenance or Avionic systems maintenance of ATRs/Boeing. pl list the suitable jobs available in civil aviation sector.
